It is helpful to bring photographs of yourself at a younger age in order to help keep you looking true to your more youthful self. What Can I Expect After Surgical Facial Rejuvenation?
Depending on the procedure it is best to plan for a couple of weeks where you may have bruising and swelling of the face. Social engagements and vigorous physical exercise should be avoided until the swelling starts to subside and sutures are removed. You can help minimize swelling by keeping your head elevated while sleeping. Please be sure to arrange for a friend or family member to drive you home from the cosmetic surgery center and then to stay with you, helping you out around the house for the first few days. You will be given detailed post-operative care instructions to take with you. Throughout your recovery, you will periodically meet with Dr. Tavakolian so that she can assess your progress. After 5 – 7 days, when the swelling typically subsides, your stitches will be removed. You might experience some temporary numbness, and facial movements might feel stiff; this is to be expected following surgery and should diminish with time.
